2 Analogue view

1. Window of scanned charts

Once the charts are scanned, they appear in the main view in the bar on the left.

The charts framed in red indicates the selected disc that is currently undergoing editing/analysis. After selecting a chart from the list on the left, its enlarged image appears on the center screen, followed by automatic analysis of the chart.

2. Reading charts from a file

Thanks to the saving of chart image files on the hard drive, it is possible to reopen them. This is made possible by the "Open chart from file" button.

It is possible to select more charts, which will appear in the left window - as if they were scanned from scratch.

3. Automatic chart analysis

One of the main goals of the program is to speed up the reading of chart papers. We will now outline how the program "converts" a simple image of a chart paper into readable data, which enables the subsequent creation of reports.

The program automatically detects the periods of each state of "driving", "other work", "availability" or "rest" and applies to the currently processed chart. The detailed reading result appears in the "Records" table:

The "Records" table includes the start and end of each tachograph condition, its duration, type and the number of kilometers driven on a given chart section. In addition, in the column with an asterisk*, there is information about the number of vehicles the driver drove on one chart.

5. Correction of data read automatically from the chart

Sometimes it may happen that the program reads some data from the chart incorrectly. The reason may be a poorly calibrated scanner or a damaged/scratched chart. If the chart is dirty or incorrectly scanned, there may be problems reading the charts correctly. There are a number of ways to bypass this problem. In the Tachospeed program, we have the possibility to make corrections to a misread chart. These are possible through the corresponding buttons on the quick access button bar in the analog view.

6. Changing the position of the center of the charts

For the charts reading to be correct, it is sometimes necessary to manually adjust the center circle. It should be in the following position:

Use the buttons to change the center position:

7. Changing the radius of the activity reading circle

If the activities on the charts are not between the two red circles, it may be necessary to manually reduce or increase their radius. You can modify the radius of the circle reading the activity time using the buttons:

If we need to correct the reading radius every time we read the chart, this value should be permanently changed. Such necessity occurs, for example, for ACTIA/POLTIK tachographs and charts. For other charts the default value is 370. We can change the reading radius of the chart in the scanning window. We use the "Charts - Scan charts..." menu for flatbed scanners *(e.g. Canon LIDE).

8. Changing the position of 12 o'clock

Tachospeed automatically looks for the 12 o'clock hour on the chart, which is marked with a blue solid line. To correct the 12 o'clock hour on the dial, hover the mouse pointer over the blue line and drag it to the desired hour, clockwise. The 12 o'clock position determines the hour and minute values appearing on the watch in the upper left corner of the central window and in the "Records" tab.

9. Edit activity (pop-up menu)

In some cases, it is necessary to make some changes to the driver's working time. All modifications are possible by selecting a slice of the charts and launching a pop-up menu.
