Wersja Multi programu Tachospeed jest to wersja wielostanowiskowa, która umożliwia jednoczesną pracę kilku użytkownikom. Aby można było pracować w taki sposób, konieczne jest podłączenie komputerów w sieci LAN. Instalacją wersji Multi powinien zająć się przeszkolony pracownik z zakresu sieci informatycznych. Zazwyczaj jest to administrator sieci lub główny informatyk.
Wersja Multi składa się z wersji serwerowej oraz klienckiej. Wersja serwerowa powinna pracować na komputerze ogólnodostępnym dla wszystkich stacji klienckich. Wersja kliencka nie działa bez podłączenia do sieci, w której zainstalowana jest baza danych.
Aby programy klienckie działały, wystarczy, że uruchomiony jest serwer Firebird (nie musi być uruchomiona wersja serwerowa Tachospeed`a). Dzięki takiemu rozwiązaniu jednocześnie może działać kilka stanowisk, a co za tym idzie – kilku użytkowników. Wersja kliencka działa również przez Internet (DSL, Neostrada, Chello, itd.) ale wymagany jest tylko stały zewnętrzny adres IP serwera.
Installation of the server version
Program instalujemy "jako administrator" przy wyłączonym antywirusie. Najpierw zawsze instaluje się wersję serwerową. Instalacja przebiega tak samo, jak w przypadku wersji jednostanowiskowej, z tą różnicą, że po zakończeniu instalacji wersji serwerowej programu instalacyjnego automatycznie uruchamia się instalacja serwera Firebird 2.0.7 (tylko ten numer wersji). Podczas instalacji serwera Firebird 2.0.7 muszą być włączone opcje: używaj Guardiana oraz uruchom jako usługa. Aby serwer Firebird 2.0.7 działał poprawnie, na komputerze serwera musi być odblokowany port 3050 (TCP). Po instalacji należy ponownie uruchomić komputer. W przypadku, gdy nie jest to możliwe, wystarczy ręcznie uruchomić usługę serwera Firebird (opis dostępny jest w instrukcji serwera Firebird).
Teraz można przystąpić do uruchomienia programu Tachospeed. Po uruchomieniu wersji serwerowej pokaże się okno:
Dalszy opis instalacji może się różnić, w zależności od wybranych parametrów instalacji oraz parametrów sieci.
Wpisujemy adres internetowy serwera: localhost lub 127.0.0.1, albo inny przypisany do tego komputera. Następnie podajemy ścieżkę do miejsca, gdzie zainstalowana jest wersja serwerowa MULTI na serwerze, np.: C:\Program files\Infolab\TachoSpeed\
Jeżeli zrobiliśmy wszystko poprawnie, program powinien się uruchomić i uzyskać dostęp do bazy danych.
Once the program is installed, license numbers must also be entered and then activated online or by phone through the Technical Support Department (tel. +48 32 70 70 440).
In the unlimited version, there is an option to select a database. In the database selection window, you need to specify the exact path to the database, not just the path to the directory where the program is installed. In this case, the correct path to the database will be:
C:\Program files\Infolab\TachoSpeed\Baza\TACHOSPEED.GDB
We can change the path to the database using the "Edit" button in the database selection window.
In case we cannot connect to the database, the Debug button becomes useful. It opens a window that displays messages with a more detailed description of errors. This allows us to quickly solve connection problems.
The most common problems when installing the server version
- the program was not installed with antivirus disabled and "as administrator" on the administrator account
- The program starts, but "does not see" the database (all the time a window pops up with the path to the database and the address of the server):
- A firewall (such as Norton Security) other than the default one is installed on the server;
- misspelled IP address (spaces, periods, etc.);
- Incorrectly stated installation path (there is a difference between the unlimited and limited version);
- Firebird server disabled (not running as a service or stopped);
- A different version of Firebird has been installed (it should be 2.0.7);
- another program on the server has a Firebird or Interbase server installed and they block port 3050 and/or are in an older version (you need to change the computer to install as a server or run a second Firebird server on a different port and enter this number in the program);
- different version of the database (the server version is lower than the database version) - the problem occurs when trying to restore an older version of the program to a newer database.
